This video is a quick overview on how I created a basic man's makeup application and adding a few painted scars and beard stubble. I did this on the world premier ballet Of Love and Rage performed by American Ballet Theatre at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, when working in theatre speed of application is essential.

When working in theatre speed of application is essential. It's especially true when working with ABT. The makeup has to go fast and be able to be remove fast since the dancers often dance a different role after the role they just danced. That is why I used, mainly water base makeup and powders. The only exception was on the scars, I used an alcohol base makeup. The reason for that, is I was able to achieve the look that I wanted; because I couldn't do it with the water base makeups that I had in my kit.
